Sound Moderators - The Crime and Policing Act (2026) – Firearms (Section 44, Schedule 5)

The amendments to The Crime and Policing Act (2026) - Firearms (Section 44, Schedule 5) came into effect from 29th June 2026.  The full document can be found at this link -

Schedule 5 amends the provisions in the 1968 Act and the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988 which allow a person to possess a firearm without holding a firearm or shotgun certificate. As set out in the Explanatory Notes, this will allow a person to possess a relevant accessory as well as a firearm without holding a certificate.
